Bio in English

Martín Calcagno was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1976. In 2000, he got his degree as Professor of Sculpture at the National School of Fine Arts Prilidiano Pueyrredón.

In 2005, he took an investigation trip to Japan where he visit many local artists and was introduced to the Japanese Art world. In 2014 he was selected for JustResidence Madrid Art residences. For this project he settled his workshop at PACA, Gijón, and the pieces where exhibited at JustMad Fair 2014.

His work blends several materials as brass, wood and blown glass. His meticulous job, topics as Nature, romance, triviality or kitsch, dialogue in a magic and oneiric atmosphere.

Through his channel at Youtube he shares sculpture techniques, work tips and experimental research on different materials. Since 2006 is developing Percheron leather Aprons brand, awarded with Fondo Nacional de las Artes Prize.

He works and lives in Buenos Aires.
